Even though you might already be using social media as part of the marketing strategy for your online business, there’s a chance you may not be using your social media ecommerce strategy to its full capabilities. The experts of Social Vantage are here to offer tips on how you can get the most out of social media and your business in order that you’re truly connecting with your customers and audience and not just existing on the edges of their attention.

Sharing Is Caring

By adding social sharing buttons on your product or services pages, you make it easy for customers to share what your business has to offer with friends and family on their social media pages. While marketing and advertising on your own is great, having your actual customers advocate your products and services is often more effective.

Include Customer Reviews

Adding customer reviews somewhere on your business webpage is another essential step when it comes to social media ecommerce. While a few bad reviews are inevitable, how many of the world’s leading businesses don’t have a few bad reviews? It’s best to be transparent about what people think about your services or products and let them decide on their own. It’s often easy to see through bad reviews that aren’t truly justifiable.

Pick Your Social Media Profiles Wisely

You can’t simply create a profile for every single social media platform out there. Doing so can be overwhelming in some places and a waste of time in others. Let your target audience, your business and your customers dictate which social media platforms you utilize. For instance, if most of your customers are females aged between 25 and 50, then you’re likely to have the best luck on Pinterest. There are also some platforms that work great no matter your business or customer base. Everyone and their great aunt is on Facebook, which means you should be too.

If you sell directly to other businesses, you’re better off going with LinkedIn, which is where professionals gather to make business connections and learn more about their respective industries. No matter which site you choose, make sure you’re active on it.

Bring It All Together

Rather than see social media as a separate entity from your other marketing and advertising efforts, see it as a supplement. Your social media followers might also be interested in subscribing to your newsletter, and you can use social media to let others know about any specials or sales you’re having.

Social media is a powerful tool, but it’s a tool you might not be using to its full potential. Switch things up if necessary and implement these ideas to see how much better your results are.
